How to Use Your VA Dental Benefits at East Orlando Dentistry
VA Dental Benefits FAQ for Veterans
- Who qualifies for free VA dental care? (VA Class I, IIC, IV, IIA, III, V, VI, IIB)
Veterans may be eligible for VA-covered dental treatment depending on their service-connected status or program participation.
- Service-connected dental disability or rated 100% disabled (Class I or IV), former prisoners of war (Class IIC) → eligible for any needed care.
- Certain combat-related dental injuries or service trauma (Class IIA).
- Participation in VA vocational rehabilitation or treatment requiring dental care constraints (Classes III, V, VI, IIB).
- Recent Persian Gulf War-era Veterans meeting strict criteria—eligible for a one‑time treatment course if applied within 180 days of discharge, and your DD214 meets VA requirements (Class II)
- What dental services can I get through VA coverage?
Eligible Veterans may receive:
- Preventive care: cleanings, X‑rays, exams
- Restorative treatment: fillings, crowns, bridges
- Prosthodontics: dentures, dental implants, partials
- Oral surgery: extractions, facial reconstruction
- Root canals, gum treatments, and more, based on eligibility status
- How do I apply for VA dental benefits?
- Apply for VA health care via VA Form 10-10EZ if you’re not already enrolled.
- Confirm eligibility for dental coverage and your benefits classification.
- If eligible for one‑time care (Class II), apply within 180 days of discharge and ensure your DD214 did not indicate prior full dental care
- I don’t qualify for VA dental care—what now?
If you don’t qualify or need additional coverage:
- Enroll in the VA Dental Insurance Program (VADIP)—this offers discounted private insurance through Delta Dental or MetLife.
- Must be enrolled in VA health care or be a CHAMPVA beneficiary. VADIP provides comprehensive coverage for diagnostic, preventive, surgical, restorative, and emergency dental services. Enrollment does not affect your VA dental treatment eligibility
- Ask us about our East Orlando Dental Care+ package. Our exclusive membership saves you money and allows you to get quality dentistry without insurance.
- Can I use my VA dental benefits at East Orlando Dental?
Absolutely! East Orlando Dental is a Community Care Network (CCN) dentist for the VA. If referred to our clinic:
- Bring your VA authorization letter to your appointment.
- We bill the VA directly—there’s no surprise billing for covered services
