Comprehensive Exams
It’s our goal for all patients, young and old, to maintain beautiful, healthy smiles. The best way to achieve this is through a solid daily hygiene routine and regular dental appointments.

Dr. Morales recommends visiting our office for a checkup every six months. During this appointment, your caring Orlando dentist performs an exam that includes:

  • Evaluation of your teeth, gums, and mouth
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Bite check and evaluation for any orthodontic issues
  • Assessment of your oral hygiene
  • Advice and top tips on how to improve your daily brushing and flossing

You will be able to view what Dr. Morales sees via an intraoral camera and chair-side monitor. This allows you to be a part of your exam and understand our recommendations.

Oral Hygiene
Your oral health is of paramount importance to us. During a typical hygiene visit, you will receive a professional cleaning using modern technology and a feather-light touch.

After the cleaning, our hygienist provides expert advice on how to care for those hard-to-reach areas. Dr. Morales may also give feedback and answer any questions you have about keeping your mouth healthy. This includes information on diet and the best equipment to use.

Periodontal Care
The health of your gums can have a significant impact on your overall well-being. Without a proper hygiene routine, your gums could suffer from periodontal disease. This disease affects the gums and gum line surrounding your teeth. Common symptoms include bleeding, inflammation, or sensitive gums.

If periodontal disease takes hold, our dentist in Orlando and his dental hygienists can reduce the risk by cleaning away any plaque or bacterial build-up. Then we’ll explain how to maintain a good brushing and flossing routine to keep your gums healthy.

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please visit us. Periodontal disease, if left untreated, can lead to gum recession, missing teeth, and even heart disease. If your gum disease has become severe, we may recommend scaling and root planing (more intensive cleaning) to remove the bad bacteria.

Fluoride Treatment
Although fluoride is a naturally occurring element, there are some who do not have access to enough of it. Fluoride is found in water and some food and helps strengthen your teeth’s enamel (outside layer). If you or your child aren’t getting enough fluoride, your teeth may suffer, and plaque may build up. Fluoride can be found in toothpaste and mouth rinses. However, for those with significantly lower levels, our Orlando dentist can provide an in-office treatment. Dr. Morales begins by cleaning the surfaces of your teeth and then simply applies a special fluoride-rich varnish to your teeth. The fluoride then strengthens your teeth and protects the enamel. After treatment, we may also share tips to keep your fluoride levels high.
Sealants
The majority of decay, especially in children, starts in the grooves and crevasses of the back teeth. These teeth are hard to reach when brushing and can be neglected, resulting in food debris becoming stuck and leading to decay.

The good news is sealants can help prevent this in both adults and children. Sealants are thin layers of resin coated onto the tooth’s surface. When it hardens, it fills in the grooves making it easier to brush away any debris.

The process involves Dr. Morales painting on layers of the resin and then hardening the layers. The resin blends in with your natural teeth to leave an esthetically-pleasing finish.

Root Canals
When a tooth becomes badly decayed or infected, a root canal may be the only way to save it. It is worth noting that root canals (endodontics) aren’t as painful as once perceived thanks to modern advances in technology. The root canal process involves the removal of infection or bacteria from the inside of your tooth (the nerve and pulp). Once this is cleaned, Dr. Morales seals it to prevent further infection. Symptoms could include sensitivity when drinking and eating, pain, and inflammation. The sooner your tooth is assessed the less invasive the therapy may be. Root canals are very effective and are an ideal way to save your natural teeth from infection or even falling out.
"Excellent staff. I always feel welcome, and like I'm the only person they have seen for the day. Clean office, and quick in and out time makes this easily the place to go when you need to go to the dentist."

Our Restorative Dentistry Options

Restore your smile with long-lasting restorative dentistry in Orlando. Click on each image for details.
Fillings
Eating sugars and acidic foods could lead to tooth decay. This decay can, in turn, lead to cavities in your teeth that need filling by a dental professional.

Dr. Morales offers composite filings. These fillings are becoming more and more popular because of the natural-looking finish they provide. The resin is made of a composite material that mimics the natural color of your teeth. The material bonds to your teeth, which prevents movement and gaps from occurring.

Dentures
Did you know 26% of Americans aged 65-75 years have lost all their teeth? It is an unfortunate fact that teeth don’t last forever. However, dentures can restore your smile and the function of your teeth.

Dr. Morales is proud to offer three types of dentures in East Orlando:

Full Dentures: These are an option for those who have lost all their teeth on either (or both) the upper or lower arch. The removable dentures use suction to stay in place and require frequent dental check-ups.

Partial Dentures: If you have only lost a few teeth partial dentures are an option. They are held in place by your natural teeth and gums. Plus, they offer a secure and fully functional teeth replacement solution.

Cosmetic Dentures: Designed to look like your natural teeth, these dentures can be held in place using dental implants. Implant dentures are placed by an implant dentist, and then Dr. Morales can install your new denture on top.

All our denture options are customized with the end goal of restoring your smile’s function and beauty.

Extractions
There are many reasons why you may need a tooth removed. It could be due to severe decay or infection. Perhaps you have experienced some trauma, or it could be due to overcrowding (normally the wisdom teeth).

If extraction is the best course, Dr. Morales begins by numbing the area and ensuring it is clean. He will carefully remove the tooth – you shouldn’t feel any discomfort due to the anesthesia. Next, he covers the area with gauzes to prevent bleeding.

The area is kept clean, and Dr. Morales provides advice on how to facilitate the healing process. Depending on your situation, he may recommend a replacement option such as a dental bridge or implant.

Dental Implants
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root and provides the foundation for a beautiful crown restoration.

We can offer our patients the convenience of having their complete dental implant treatment performed under one roof. Dr. Morales will do your implant treatment, from start to finish, right here in our office. There is no need to go to another office for the placement of your implant. You can have your entire implant procedure done by a dentist and team you know and trust!

We create the final restoration over the implant using CEREC® same-day dentistry. With this technology, Dr. Morales can design, create, and place a crown restoration in a single visit. Crowns are the most common restoration created by CEREC®. A crown is an artificial tooth made to replace any part of a tooth that is missing. With dental implants, crowns are used to top the abutment and thus restore your smile.

CEREC® uses 3-D technology to take digital impressions of your mouth. Next, Dr. Morales custom designs the crown to fit your specifications. The data is transferred to the milling machine, and your crown is created and placed.

Full Mouth Reconstruction
At times, Dr. Morales may have to use a series of dental treatments to restore your smile to its former health and beauty. When this occurs, he will sit down and discuss his recommendations. This affords you the opportunity to ask any questions and fully understand the treatment options available.

A full mouth restoration may include some services such as:

  • CEREC® Dental Crowns
  • Veneers
  • Invisalign®
  • Fillings
  • Teeth Whitening

The goal of these treatments is to restore your smile, improve your health, and help you feel more confident. Whatever treatments you need, rest assured that you’ll get the final say, and only necessary treatments are recommended by our dentist in Orlando, FL.
